"We love coming into your fabulous world"
-The Children's Trust
Welcome to Funsense, a very friendly, open and extremely creative arts organisation based in South London.
Since 2004 Funsense has been led by the needs of disabled children across the country looking for accessible and fun creative activities! That's fourteen years of helping literally thousands of children access exciting, memorable and fun arts experience in all sorts of venues.
Funsense has offered arts and drama experiences for all ages with emphasis on playing and fun, while enriching learning. The quality and enjoyment of a Funsense session owes much to its facilitators and their extensive experience of different audiences and their needs.
I have learnt so much in the time I've been running Funsense. From our audiences, facilitators and a range of community organisations.
Funsense has been fortunate to work with some great organisations including Disability Challengers, Norwood, Surrey Libraries, The Children's Trust and The Orange Tree Theatre to deliver some truly special events including puppetry residencies, drama play schemes, arts workshops, exhibitions, displays and creative workshops. Every partnership has offered something new. To see images of some of our projects please see our portfolio page.
Over the past couple of years I've been taking on more work as a writer and performer and taking on various commissions for festivals and heritage projects and so there have been some changes in how Funsense operates. Smaller scale sessions such as puppetry and Storyplay sessions have been handed over to me as an independent facilitator. Any suitable larger scale projects in receipt of public funding are run by Funsense.
The philosophy remains the same and that is to be as accessible as possible, work to reach diverse audiences with exciting and fun arts experiences.
If you have any questions or want to find out more please contact me. It would be great to hear from you,
Jenny Lockyer, Funnsense director.
